DR. LEARY is a native of Greenwood, SC. He graduated summa cum laude from The University of South Carolina and cum laude from the Medical University of South Carolina. He received the Lang Publication Award for the highest academic average and was a member of the Alpha Medical Honor Society. Dr. Leary was Board Certified in obstetrics and gynecology in 1986 and was recertified in 1996 and recently in 2006.

He is a member of the American Medical Association, the Greenwood County Medical Society the South Carolina Ob-Gyn Society, and is a fellow in the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.  He has also served on the Boards of United Way, the Hospital Foundation, the National Wild Turkey Federation, and the Heritage Trust. Additionally, he has served as trustee of the South Carolina Medical Association, vice-chairman of the Department of Natural Resources of South Carolina and president of the medical staff at Self Regional Healthcare and is a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow. He currently serves on the Harry Hampton Conservation Board, is president-elect of the South Carolina Ob-Gyn Society, and is an Outstanding Young Man of America and America's Top Ob-Gyn. He resides in Ninety Six with his wife, Cindy, and three children, Jay, Caroline, and Jonathan. He enjoys hunting, fishing, woodworking, and amateur farming in his spare time.

After 25 years of obstetrics, he now practices full time gyn and surgery.
